It is important for us to help you, when you start working with
the "printingOffice". We would like to offer you one
possible way, how to set up the basic parameters. A main target
is that you will get a correct result in the end.
Do not be afraid to think creatively or to experiment, when you
set up the program.
I. At first it is important to set up a price of printing. You
take the costing, which you have made out manually in the past.
It is better for you
to choose a simple example, without inserting of the typesetting,
bookbinding etc.
Example:
Headed paper printing, size A4, printrun 10 000 units, two-colour
printing, printing only from one side, i.e. 2+0, paper 80g offset
II. In the part of the program "Data Lists" you set
up all items, which you know
These are:
Paper - you set up the sheet size of the paper and buying price
of one sheet. For example 81g offset paper per 0,05 USD.
Size - you set up the size {format}, for example A4.
Machines - you have to be careful, when inserting this data as
they influence most the accurancy of the final price of the calculation.
A/ Insert the printing machine used in your printing office
B/ Choose the method of the calculation - The calculation according
to printing pressure price or the calculation according to hourly
rate.
The calculation according to printing pressure price (one printing
pressure is one pressure of printing plate on the paper for one
colour)
Basic part of the calculation according to printing pressure
price for one sheet may look as follows:
One sheet = Printing pressure price x number of printing plates
(+ Other items)
Example 1:
You use four-colour printing machine and one-side, two-colour
printing
One sheet = printing pressure price x 2
Example 2:
You use four-colour printing machine and perfect printing, four-colour
printing
One sheet = printing pressure price x 8
Example 3:
You use four-colour printing machine and perfect printing, two-colour
printing
One sheet = printing pressure price x 4
The calculation according to hourly rate
If you are working with this method of the calculation, all these
items influence the calculation directly.
Basic part of the calculation according to hourly rate for one
sheet may look as follows:
One sheet = number of printing pressures, which the machine have
to make per one hour / machine speed x hourly price of the machine
running + other item
Next you insert:
C/ Number of printing pressures/hour
(It means a machine speed - how much printing pressures the machine
makes in hour)
D/ Preparation time - machine
(You insert the time for preparation of the machine for one colour)
E/ Paper heavier then xx g - decrease the machine speed by xx
%
(In this item, you can adapt the calculation, if the paper of
specific grammage decreases machine speed. It has direct influence
on calculation by hourly rate)
F/ Number of inking units
G/ Perfect printing
(You mark when the machine is printing both sides of the sheet
at the same time)
H/ Coefficients
(This item automatic allows increase/decrease in percentage {+/-}
of the printing pressure price or hour of operation for single
colours. You can use
this function, if you need to discern the hourly price or printing
pressure price for single colour printing or multicolour printing.
If you choose the "Ink" option, the program offers you
all kinds of the colour combinations.
I/ Preparation/colour
(You insert the preparation price for one printing colour depending
on given time of preparation)
J / Assembly/colour
(You insert the assembly price for one printing colour depending
on given time of preparation)
K/ printing plate size, its life span and unit price.
L/ Trim
(It is the size in the millimetres (mm), which was added by machine
automatically for selected final size.}
If you choose the final format A5 for the new costing, the program
designs the paper arrangement on printing sheet. For A5 size inserted
in the list
"Sizes", the program will also add the margin for trim.
This data are influencing directly the paper consumption.
M/ Addition
(It is a number of printing sheets, which will be added for one
colour for calculated specific quantity of paper)
Example:
The program calculates the net consumption of the paper printing
sheet (PS) for 900 units. For range from 500 to 1000 units the
addition 20 units is
inserted in the table of additions. If you print 2+2, the final
number of sheets will be 900 + (20 * (2+2)) = 980 PS.
Attention:
If there is an item you do not need, insert the zero {0} or do
not fill in this box. You do not have to define all parameters.
It depends only on your
own request. Although the orders may have the same final size
{for example A4}, the parameters of the machine setting can be
different, the parameters of the machine setting can be different,
for example when you print a heading paper, a book or a catalogue.
You can handle this situation by inserting repeatedly the machine
to the list "Machines". {each time in different variant}.
For better transparency, we advise you to use variable machine
names in your the "Machines".
III. After you inserted the basic data to the lists, you may
go to the "Costing-Calculations" option and try to insert
the data from your selected
costing to the "New Calculation" form. You fill in the
date, subject of the costing, choose the customer from the address
book, insert size and VAT rate. You do not insert the profit,
extra items and the items depending or not depending on printrun.
IV. After you inserted the printing data, {you select the machine
and the paper}, press on the button with "Dark-blue arrow"
icon, which is under list
on the right corner. The program will enable the option to change
inserted data only for this actual case without changing the data
in the lists {in the "Data Lists"}. Now, you can experiment
and you can change the data repeatedly until you reach requested
result, i.e. until the calculated printing price will be the same
as your costing, which you made out manually. Each time you make
the change, you should go to the "Calculation" window
and compare the monitored values. {You can edit the inserted printing
data with the help of "arrow", which is next to the
"Printing" window.} After this manner you can find,
how you can modify the data in the "Machine" list, mainly
the printing pressure price, hourly rate, assembly price etc.
For correct setting you need to try insert the data from various
costing. After you reach requested results, you can modify the
lists {in the Data
lists} and then make out more complicated costing. We have already
written, that the value of the parameters can be different for
book or for leaflet even if they have the same size. That is why
you need to create more items for individual types of printed
matters in the lists.

which this program offers is not suitable for you, contact us
